Elderly Lady In Pink
With a lacy white metal loveseat with a white and pink floral setting, I am acting the part of an elderly lady in pink. This is a dress of my own design. The fabric is from a Virginia Wal-Mart stores Fabric Section. I paid $5 total for this fabric which made a floor length dress and a very long shawl. The dress is softest pink in color and is nylon stretchy fabric which is silky and has an almost iridescent sheen. It features a V-neck, is sleeveless style and drapes softly in a loosely fitting A-line. The fabric came with a self fringed edge on one side which I managed to design so that the fringe is at the bottom of the dress, in lieu of hemming. The shawl, I designed that the fringe would be on either end as it drapes softly around me. I wore silver wire rimmed ":granny style" glasses, red manicured nails and held my body. hands, head, and facial expressions, the way an elderly person might. Creating the look of a sweet little old granny, enjoying a peaceful afternoon in the back flower garden. It was fun portraying "The Elderly Lady In Pink."

Grey Wig And Dress For Playing An Elderly Lady In Films
I am being the Lady In Grey for playing an elderly lady in films. I am
wearing a grey wig in the color and style of my mothers own hair. Here
with my hair the same length and color, I think I look a lot like my
mother, Gertrude Hawkins, except my mother has always been the most
beautiful lady. With long dark brown hair in her younger years which is
this beautiful grey tint and texture exactly like this wig now only hers
is naturally so. And my mom has always been trim with a beautiful
figure. I am wearing a dress of my own design, with V- neckline,
A-line style and dress length half way between knee and ankle.
The fabric is from Wal-Mart's fabric section for $1.50 from a Va,
Wal-Mart store. It closely matches my silver
grey wig for a beautiful soft color as The Lady In Grey.

Impromptu Bullfight
Silver necklace worn in this photo is a "wedding necklace" like those worn in another country by the wedding couple linking them together. I bought this in a Goodwill store in Va. for $3. Bracelet of tiny silver bells on a silver cuff bought in La Goodwill store for $2.
Cotton stretch knit red dress by Luna Luz made in USA features boat neckline and ruffled balloon skirt. (Bought in Goodwill store in San Antonio, Texas for $5. I bought this dress to wear when appearing in the television program "Friday Night Lights". I love the skirt part of it. I received compliments on this dress from people involved in the filming. I wore a red suede Spanish style cowboy hat also for that T.V. episode, and black leather knee high boots with 2 inch heels bought for $$5.00 in a Goodwill store.) In this photo of my impromptu "bullfight", I am using a red skirt as the cape (muleta) for my "bullfight". The skirt is made in India of 100% silk. It has a transparent overskirt decorated with vine-like designs of silver beading, edged with gold beading. The under skirt is non-tranparent silk attached to over skirt at stretch waist and the hemline. The skirt is titled Carina by Bauy Lee Bought this in anLA Goodwill store for $3.99. It ia gorgeous skirt and made a wonderful "muleta" for this photo shoot in LA.

Valentine skirt by Toiet Moi, of 95% polyester and 5% spandex. The skirt is a non-stretch satin look over stretchy skirt attached under skirt , with 3 inch deep tulle ruffle attached at hem. There is a one inch wide , long satin ribbon belt attached to either side of waist., I wore tied in front. It is a very soft and dressy, very girly skirt, a "feel good " outfit. Worn in this photo over a V-necked sleeveless straight dress of my own design, made of soft stretchy nylon fabric I bought from Wal-Mart's sewing section in Va. for $1.50 on sale. The bright pink knee high socks are 99 cents from our wonderful LA 99 Cent Store. This a colorful and fun outfit!!!

From Nerdy Sweater To Elegant Shawl
This lovely shawl I am wearing is recycled. It was a sweater in a style I
didn't like. I cut the pieces from each front and back and sewed it all
together again matching the stripes. I have worn it a lot since
remaking it into a shawl, transforming it from nerdiness to elegance.
The fabric is soft and comfortable, medium weight knit and as I have a
lot of black and red clothes, it goes with many of my outfits. The
red dress I am wearing is made in China by Periwinkle, 95% polyester, 5%
spandex, purchased several years ago for $12 at an LA Ross store. It
has a 3 inch back neck slit with button closures. It also features rose
petal like circles of the same fabric sewn all the way around the
neckline. The beautiful necklace is of faux rubies bought at
Wal-Mart for $3. Knee high genuine leather boots were $5 from
A Goodwill Store. A silver metal shoulder strap pocketbook
completes the look. My beautiful shawl worn here on an exciting tour
on board the Queen Mary about a year ago. What a beautiful ship, built
for a queen and used during W.W.ll to transport troops, now permanently
docked in Long Beach, CA.

Vintage Pastel Pink Nighty
Two great treasures I discovered in LA thrift stores, the bra I
purchased 2 years ago and the irresistibly beautiful nighty I found
several months ago. They only cost me $3.00 each!!! Worn under the
nighty is a wonderful pink bra made by "Secret Treasures" in China. It
is 100% polyester and has light pink softest feathers across top of bra,
satiny looking stretch straps and trim that shine. The adorable glamourous, soft pink baby doll nighty is 100% nylon. It feels dreamy!!!!
It features a deeply scooped neckline.trimmed all the way
around, including straps and back neck with doubled pink satin ribbon
and 2 inch wide lace of the same pastel pink as the gown. The front
bottom has 2 sections cut curved about 6 inches higher than the back,
Those 2 cutouts and the front center neck
are trimmed in pink satin ribbon bows with a tiny pink rose and green
satin ribbon on each. There are matching untrimmed panties, This gown
is s-o-o-o vintage but had never been worn. I love this definitely "Old
Hollywood Glamour." !!!!

Egyptian Art Dress
This unique straight shortsleeved dress is a work of art in itself. It
has colorful paintings done in gold, black, blue, and pink, from the
neck almost to the hemline.
Paintings include the Egyptian style collar necklace, two heads of Nefertiti, the lotus flower, head of Tutankhamun, three pyramids, a sphinx, four camels, the sun, two palm trees, and more. There are quite a number of dark iridescent beads and silver sequins sewn on throughout. The dress appears to be made of rayon. I found this treasure in an LA thrift store for only $6.00. I can wear it and/or hang it on the wall as art. The earrings are red feathers with smaller black and white feather from an LA 99 Cent Only store. Silver colored metal bangle bracelets are from an LA Wal-Mart for $5.00. The gorgeous ring of red stone surrounded by large faux diamonds is from a 99 Cent Only store in LA. The lovely faux diamond and silver bracelet has a beautifully real look and I've had it for years from a Va. Wal-Mart store. The shoes were a $5.00 thrift store find. The gold genuine leather open toe, 3 inch heels, open on each side but with gold metal side straps and closed heel, are by Equity Evening Wear and made in England continues the gold theme of the dress.

This
little gold polyester satin slip dress is one of my all time favorites.
It is softness itself and shines with a lovely reflective glow. It has a
slight V-neck line. There are slits on each side of the dress halfway
between the knee and hip and a self fabric tie on either side at the
beginning of the slits. I wear them untied. This dress is by "Inner
Most" made in Mexico.
It
cost only several dollars at an LA thrift store, what a fabulous find!
It feels like a dream, so comfortable, and the look is the height of
elegance, definitely ""Old Hollywood Glamour!!!

Georgie Keyloun caftan
This is my exciting vintage find I bought in a thrift store in LA. It was in my favorite color and reminded me of beautiful styles I had seen in the 60's, worn by some of my favorite stars like Mama Cass and someone said it reminded them of some of the things worn on television program Laugh In. I just liked that it had a vintage look and style. It cost me about $7.00. It has what appears to be a satin taffeta under dress in straight style with an attached overlay dress of pleated chiffon that fans out somewhat like wings . It has red and gold sequins and gold cord decorating the neckline and the cuffs. My daughter, after researching this dress on line found that it is a designer dress by Georgie Keyloun, a designer in the 60's and 70's.Some of the designers' pieces were for sale on line now for over $400. I am so happy to discover this vintage treasure!!!
